About

Jo Aykroyd is the face behind Reframe U and has a wealth of knowledge and experience from 20 years in various therapeutic roles.

Jo achieved a degree in Behavioural Science in 1993 and went on to achieve a further degree and qualify as an Occupational Therapist in 2000. She has experience working with a broad range of client groups, including adults, young people, children and families enabling her to comprehend and work with diverse and complex issues.

Jo recognises that people are increasingly critical and tough on themselves in order to be “everything to everyone”. This often leads to feelings of inadequacy, the inner critic working in overdrive, trying to help us but in fact pushing us further down a negative path.

At Reframe U, Jo doesn’t ignore the inner critic. The inner critic is put in the spotlight and exposed. Jo works with people to notice the inner critic at work and then begin to turn the volume down so we can choose not to listen, and instead, turn the voice of the inner coach up.

Through identifying and implementing practical strategies and techniques, Jo guides people to reframe the negative thoughts and patterns of behaviour to allow the inner coach, that is positive, supportive and encouraging to emerge and be heard enabling people to live happier, more contented lives.

Jo is able to initiate a relaxed and skilled rapport which enables people to feel at ease to share and explore issues in order to initiate positive change.
